Will we be able to make statues without them turning into trophies?

I never know what will happen once an event is over until I waste resources or end up with useless items. Some events end and the items still work and others end and stop working. Example: Magic Xmas stopped working as did Hunting Bush.
I want to make and keep statues for decoration on builds and I have a limited supply of these statue items.
