gold or raw gold

is there a difference, my quest said mine 40 raw gold, so i mined gold and it didn't give me the quest

    You need to mine 40 blocks that with gold ore inside them

    It is the same result as other quests. Example mine 27 raw silver, you just need to mine 27 blocks of silver as Honey Bomb mentioned earlier.
