A very large amount of Server lagg, struggling to hold a connection

For a long while now around about 6 months plus the servers and become increasingly laggy as time goes on, it has now gotten as bad as struggling to hold connections for more than 10 mins at a time or less, also having delayed responses from the game on mining a placing blocks - would assume it is related. Many other players that I keep in contact with have noticed it too. we had a server restart not so long ago and it seemed to not do much and with the hype of April fools and the Easter update nearing closer it is getting worse.

I did leave this issue a few months to make sure that it wasn't just a coincidence.
