How to delete discussions?

Title says it all...I need some help with this...

    You can't delete threads. Threads get deleted by forum moderators for violation of any forum rules. If you want your thread to be locked, kindly ask for it to be locked within a thread itself and one of forum moderators will lock it for you.

    You can however ignore it by clivking the gear symbol if you are not yet in the thread

    Realistically, there is no use for it. Not when there is an edit function available.
