How does the mine overworld stamps work?

I, was wondering about how the mine stamps used in overworld works , does it create a new mine or just link to already existing mines ???

There is only a certain number of mines in the game and placing a mine stamp will simply choose one of those mines (based on where you put it in your overworld).

You won't get "private" mines with your own overworld; everyone still shares mines unfortunately.
