what forum ratings are about is that you could rate any post /comment one of these ratings:
like - dislike - agree - disagree - useful
* you can only give a player x amount of likes/ agrees a day
* you can only give a player x amount of dislikes/ disagrees a day
* and maybe change the karma system to how many likes/ agrees you have?
* every like/ agree = 1 point
* x points = familiar rank does not go away after a period of time
(maybe 75 for familiar rank?)
* and some more other forum ranks

    There is a system in place for that, however I disabled it. It might look good at first, but then it just adds points by which people can get competitive over... or even have their feelings hurt.

    "I have -3 on my idea, I'm so sad :("
    "I hate this guy, I'll dislike all his stuff... because why not."
    "I'm going to make lots of alts to like my own stuff and show how good it is!"
    "Hmm, more alts and likes to get more karma, YES!"

    We had it functional on the old forums, but there was practically no good reason to keep it. I mean yes, people can show if they like your posts or not... but... isn't it better to just use words instead of Hollywood-style gladiatorial judgement?
