pet level bug

Help my nephew dog pet,i want to borrow the pet to find fossil,before the pet is level 10 when i take the pet its level 0
Can you fix it please.

    After leveling a pet go to the kennel and put it back, then mine the pet and re place it down.

    Always place the pets back before breaking them, putting them is kinda like saving the level, breaking it without putting it back doesn't save it's level

    well .. i break the pet kennel.. when the pet with me. and nothing happend..this might happend if you break the kennel using alts

    They’re talking about if you level it up and don’t put it back before breaking it. Not just breaking it without adding any levels.
