It shouldn't take too long. I would expect service to be restored very soon. We only have to wait days for some stuff due to apple certification process. In this situation that is not going to be the case. as I believe it to be server side or datacentre issue.

Just to try and isolate the issue I've added a poll. Please fill it out if you can. Might give us a better idea where the problem is.
I know a few of you mentioned pens yard rentals so that why its an option.
This has just happened during login. I was 110% unable to get in after the problem. Last place I was at prior to logging out was either "Beach Party" or Fort Knight. Both of them are BIG realms, but they're not often heavily trafficked.
We're looking into it. We'll try to get it resolved asap.

The Cubic Castles server is actually 24 smaller servers, each one running independently of each other. It's modular so that we can always add more capacity if we need to. So in most cases, a crash only brings down 1/24th of the server. But what happens is, if you're moving from realm to realm, you probably go to a different server for each one. And once you hit the downed one, you're stuck. So it's kind of like a net that fish will eventually swim into.
Okay, so when that happens, Kew, Betamax, and myself all get e-mailed, and in addition, I get paged on my smartphone. And on top of that, most mods and ThisIsNotSlim can all emergency page me. Last night, Gdog, Horus, and Moe No Wing all tried contacting me via that too. But my phone had locked up and I never received any of the messages. So that's why it went on for so long and I apologize.
It's the first time I have ever missed server down message.

Wow, thanks for the insight. Though if I could suggest, maybe make the 24 server thing a pinch more transparent, and if possible allow for players to more manually select/transfer from server to server. So if they get "stuck" in one like what happened this time, then they can override it and go to a more "stable" server.
Im pretty sure that its the "realm" data itself that is on different servers and not the player.. to transfer a realm would most likely cause more stress on the servers as a whole..
