Doomsday Event: Cubic Castles Fiction

It took weeks for the Order of Paladins to really recover from the Battle of the Breakout. The few who made it out relatively fine gathered back at Fort Knight. Some of the Order's Lieutenants took it upon themselves to make other Forts, following the example of their founder and fearless leader.

The Platinum Paladin had come down with a bothersome illness, visibly clear from the mountain of tissues by his bedside. He was not feeling well, on top of the injury he only recently recovered from. That injury was from the Battle of the Breakout. Joe was hard at work securing the best deals in all of Qbee Land! He and the Platinum Paladin had difficulties meeting up because of time zone problems, but every so often, they could check in. After a few name-changes, Mega and Luminous settled in and laid the groundwork for their own forts, Fort Noble and Fort Lumi. That said, both still required exhaustive efforts before they would show any semblance of completion. Fiona was still hard at work recruiting, even though she clearly won the Recruitment Drive event. And Mr. Pud was almost completely missing in action, though he was stuck behind Paladin City Hall. The Platinum Paladin had to rescue his friend from the cage of half-dirt stacks.

In short, the Order may be one of the strongest clans around, but deep down, its leadership is still licking its wounds.

The Platinum Paladin was taking a break from plotting the push back into No Bee's Land, as he was building his own beach where Qbees of all stripes (even naked Qbees) were more than welcome. During this break, he was mingling and socializing with what few Paladins and friends were available at the time. His home time reported late-night, from 10PM to 2AM. He should've been asleep, especially from his germ. He can not say he regretted staying up to party and socialize, but still, he had no idea how much time he spent in Qbee Land.

The Platinum Paladin was too exhausted to keep building, so he took his party to the inside of Fort Knight for a break. During this break, great deals of lag was experienced. Once, The Platinum Paladin was slapped in the face by the dreaded Red Bar of Disconnect! He double-checked all his security apparatuses, and everything looked flawless on his end. He struggled to scramble back to Fort Knight, and the rest of his company was far more panicked!

"APOCALYPSE!" All the Qbees were crying and screaming as the entire cosmos rumbled and spattered about like an infant suffering from a seizure. The Platinum Paladin stood fast, though not even HE was immune to the wrath of the Gods.

As he attempted to get his bearings, the rest of the Qbees were abuzz over what the new changes could've brought. Their faces lit up at the possibility of cars and jetpacks, and for the longest time, that was all anyone could talk about. But while The Platinum Paladin uncovered the newly-installed magic behind the improved Rehydrator technology, The Cosmic Cow was not done yet. The Fort trembled from the God's stagger. The Qbees inside quaked and whimpered, whining in terror that not even the powerful Fort Knight could protect them from God!

After what seemed like forever, the shaking stopped, and The Platinum Paladin could stand up without feeling thrown to the ground by the ground itself. But something was off. He felt heavier, which he mused was strange. "I just cleared out my inventory," he realized. When he discovered what happened, he had to not only reorganize his inventory, but also he placed a marker in Fort Knight's trophy room indicating the historical moment that caused his pockets to grow so heavy.

The Cosmic Cow rolled back the universe to a safer state, so that the entire existence of Qbee Land wouldn't be swallowed up by God's new creation. About an hour later, The Cosmic Cow tried again, resetting the existence for a very brief blackout. When the Platinum Paladin awoke in this new universe, there were no more problems to be found at the time.

But nearly all of his friends went to bed for the night by then.

There was only one thing left for The Platinum Paladin to do: join them in Dreamland. When he awakes, he hoped to see what exactly changed in his beloved universe.
