Do you need the exe mask and exe hood to make your whole qbee head black?

I know both items exist but I don't know what they do/cover.

Exe mask covers the entire head in the face slot.
exe hood doesn't exist, probably talking about the dark traveler head? Then it also covers all the head, in the hat slot

The exe hood is the exe mask, theyre the same thing. I guess people just call them different things sometimes.
