I thought I'd ask this on here seeing as you guys are great and it links to my YouTube channel. What music can/can't I use in my videos. Can I use anything as long as the video is linked in the description? Or only ones that aren't copyrighted. Because at the moment I've used the ones from the YouTube library and it's quite limited. Thanks :)

On https://incompetech.com/music/ You can find many different music pieces for your videos. They are allowed to be used as long as you paste the text that comes up when you try to download. When you click the download button, you can select the free or payed license. When you click "free" there will be text saying the music name and links to the site. You have to paste that into your video description as credit to the author, and that's it

(on the site it also says this, but clearer)

  • Usually it's different for any country, but iirc, commercially, you can only use content with a Creative Commons or a Public Domain license, unless you have purchased the rights to a certain workpiece.
