How Do You Post A Photo That You Don't Have To Go Onto?

At the moment I can only post a photo that you have to go on to.
I wondered how you could just post a photo straight onto the thread?

When you get the image at the bottom, press the X so it slides back, then press the image and it'll be in your thread! :)
