With this next update we're launching a fishing minigame you can do. This is version 1, and we plan an update probably in Jan next year with some enhancements and more fish to catch and more user customization etc..
This will be out when fall update is live.

Tips
Better rods can reduce your wait time when fishing
Better bait can reduce your wait time when fishing
Better wait times for better casts (good or perfect)
Best wait times for best rods with best bait and best cast combined
You can currently only catch fish in Fall Hunting Grounds.. Fishing anywhere else just gives you junk.
Different fish are easier or harder to catch. Some will fight more when reeling them in.
How to catch
Hold wand button to cast.. try to hit perfect or good spots, but any spot will cast
If you hold wand too long casting it will fail
Wait to get a bite.. when you see the alert use wand button to hook fish (or junk)
If you got a fish you will have to start reeling it in
Sometimes fish will fight and swim away (watch the little fish icon)
If a fish is fighting your line tension will increase.
Hold the wand button to reel.
Let go of the wand button to give the line slack.
If the line gets too stressed (it goes red in the interface) it can snap and you can lose the fish.
If you don't reel at all the fish will eventually get away.

beakfish / parrotfish / toothfish / spudfish - rare - ~1%
qbeefish / bigeye - common - ~20%
wailfish - very common - ~40%
Note that as we add new fish these percentages will vary.
