Failed connection crashes, not closes, the game

When I launch the game when I have no connection, the window closes, a window opens telling me I have no connection to Cubic Castles servers, a Windows window says 'Cubic Castles has stopped', and I think a Cubic Castles error window appears that Windows won't let me see. Is it supposed t do that?
