Is it right?

Is it right to do a payaway?
The last time I got 2k and everyone got their items.
It was the food thing register crap. (Not a scam)
I got my items for my next one now.
But. I saw Momo say 99% payaways are a scam.

But, is It right to keep doing this?

    Most payaways are scams, so be prepared for people to call you a scammer.
    People have varying opinions on what constitutes a payaway scam.
    It's a given that if you ban them before they can get their items, or the warp food doesn't work in the first place, its a scam.
    It's also widely accepted that filling the bottom of the machine with stacks of mushrooms or dirt is also a scam, since no reasonable person would pay dozens of cubits for a mushroom.

    A lot of the problem with payaways is that people will ask 200c per try, and everything in the prize machine is worth no more than 100c. Make sure that the items you put in the machine at least average out to the price you ask. Not everything in the machine needs to be valuable, but don't put in all tutus and cowls and ask 200c. Throw in a few robes and skirts too. ^^

    In my opinion, as long as around half of the items in the machine are as valuable or more valuable than the ticket price, the payaway is genuine :) (All other conditions considered, i.e. they can actually access the prize machine).

    The last time I did one.
    The tacos worked.
    The price was a low, 100c. All prize fit.
    No one called me a scammer, which was odd.
    And people were happy.
    It seems odd NOT to be called a scammer when doing my first payaway.
    I don't have much dirt or mushrooms.
    I just put the common items like a beany last in the Prize Dispenser

    They can be ok, but honestly we've considered an outright ban on them because so often they are scams. There's no simple way to allow the good ones while disallowing the bad ones. We're on the fence with these.

    I am in total agreement with SirKewberth on this one. I am seeing a huge increase in the payaways and most are scams.
  • Just btw, are those old payaways that I never see anymore with like u put 500c in the piggy and then the owner will open for the whole crowd are considered payaways?

    I just hate the term payaway. Is it a giveaway or a paid raffle? Who thought it was an accurate idea to mold those two words together?

    I'm against payaways in any form to be honest.
    They are either a scam. No items received or you do get items that are of not the value of the entrance. Sure maybe how some set it up is that there are a few good prizes, but the rest will be tat.

    Just open a shop like everyone else and actually sell the items for their value.
    Its lazy in my opinion.

    Then at the same time I get it. I used to do giveaways a lot. I stopped due to people making alts. When i gave 450 registers away last week there was so many people making alts. One qbee had the gall to say "Thanks gdog i have 7 registers thanks to you".
    That to me is 6 registers stolen from people who aren't low/greedy enough to make alts.

    I do despair at times over this community and the current generation.

    So went off on a bit of a tangent there.

    I have seen to many payaways and most of them are scams:

    * Using of Tip piggies:
    "Put 5000c in my piggy and I will open my giveaway"
    * Prizes combine with sticks, dirts or other items with low value.
    * Empty prize dispensers
    * Prizes not connected with prize dispensers
    * Using of Food bumpers. They let them pay for warp foods, but the bumper is gone/replaced.

    And most of the time. Some staff members warn players to avoid payaways. So it's not worth to host them...

    If you really need cubits for your items:

    * Just open a shop
    * Host auctions
    * Focus on holla's if somebody buy specific items.
    * And more options...

    Also avoid paying for events like:

    * Casino's - Don't gamble!, most of the time you will lose your cubits or items for nothing
    * Pick a block - Some of them are like payaways. If you want a fair event. Hinter host them sometimes, called PDC (pick da color) and it's free!

    You forgot...the LCD (Definition below)
    Lucky Cubit Drop

    I can make around 5 cubits per minute in mines. (Often more because of the lucky perk)

    And to answer the topic's question, it's a "no" to me
