What are Karma Points for?

I dont get the "you can request friendships" thingy thingy.

When you get a familiar rank and when you go to other's players profiles, you can see a "request friendship" button of their friend list. They either accept or ignore it.

Ya, what julie said, and you can get points by creating threads, and commenting on them too, you need 5 points for the familiar rank ok the forums.

You earn precisely 0.05 karma per post, and 0.10 karma per thread.
But it would be better not breaking any rule to earn them fast :)
